Hot Bridal Fashion Trends & Tips

He popped the question and you said “yes”.  Now comes the really exciting part: the wedding! And at the top of every bride’s to-do list is making sure she and her bridal party look absolutely incredible.

True blue. and burgundy.  and...

This season, the traditional all white wedding gown is getting some color: bright reds, bold blues and fierce burgundies. White dresses, combined with brightly colored taffeta bridal sashes and color trims will make you “pop!” on your special day.

One popular bridal party trend is coordinating the brides color selection with the entire bridal party.  For example, if you go with a white dress and deep red sash as many women are doing, have your bridesmaids wear deep red dresses in various styles: one in a halter, one in satin tank straps, and one in a strapless. Mixing up the dresses is a fresh new approach to the bridesmaid tradition. If you can’t seem to find a bold color that works for you, no sweat; try beige, a light yellow or a faint pink to add a little flair.

Lots of women are also making sure the men in the bridal party carry on the color in their handkerchief or tie, and many flower girl dresses this season are replicas of the bridal gowns.

Beyond just adding color, those sashes will also accentuate your waste; if you’re a woman with an hour glass shape, this style will work wonders for you. While showing your bust line, the colored sash secures your mid-section and shows a faint outline of your hips. White strapless dresses with deep colored taffeta sashes, pickup skirts and minimal trains are the best fit for this style. You will look stunning, show off your curves, and be comfortable.

There are plenty of all-white modern gowns too. If you’re a woman who always envisioned walking down the isle in a pristine white dress, think about a sleek A-line cut with a vertical ruffle skirt, or fitted tulle. A-line cuts work for the slender woman who wants to give herself some curves with its form-fitting style. It's young and hip, but with some classic style.

An empire waist is cut above the natural waistline, anywhere from just above your hips, to right under your bust. It elongates the body and gives women who have a larger mid-section a way to slenderize their figure.

Regardless of the style you choose, be it a bold new color, a traditional white, or a fashion forward flair, you'll be certain to impress with this fall's wedding gown designs.
