Las Vegas Wedding Guide
Romance Happen in Vegas

Las Vegas is known for gambling, showgirls, and, of course, weddings. Once nicknamed “Sin City,” and the former home of the Rat Pack, Vegas has become a sophisticated home of wedding packages and starry-eyed hotels. Some things never change, however, and Las Vegas still makes wedding planning a breeze: You only need to be 18 years of age and show up at the county clerk’s office to get your license, there’s no waiting period or blood tests, and the fee is only $55!

You’ll find hotels, packages, and chapels galore. You can marry at the legendary Graceland Chapel, with an Elvis impersonator as your officiant or go a far more opulent route and celebrate at hotels like the Venetian or the Bellagio, with a minister as your Nevada officiant. The big time hotels all have complete wedding packages, with caterers, planners, florists -- the works! Nowadays, couples bring their entire wedding party to Las Vegas.

Visit the OurWeddingDay.com Local Vendor section for great selection of top Las Vegas and greater Nevada wedding vendors and services.

Another advantage to a Las Vegas wedding is that it makes for a terrific place to honeymoon. You can eat at Nobu, Le Cirque, or the Eiffel Tower Restaurant at Paris Las Vegas (tres chic!), golf, and attend one of the dazzling Cirque Du Soleil shows or a concert by Bette Midler or Cher. If you want casual time, hang out by the pool or hit the slots. There’s also first-class shopping along the lines of Chanel, Hermes, and Prada. Vegas hotels are also known for their fabulous spas—a perfect idea for you and the bridal party. As for you and your groom, a couples massage is just what the love doctor ordered.

Summer weather in Las Vegas gets up to 100 degrees F., so bring the sun block and that brand-new bikini. Winter weather tends to hover in the late 50s or 60s, and rain is seldom.  Regardless of when you wed, a honeymoon hotel suite will be an unforgettable experience. Guest rooms range from about $200 to $7,000, so book accordingly. Champagne will be delivered, roses scattered on the bed, and if you’re facing the Strip, you’ll see enough lights to make you feel like you’re in heaven. Come to think of it…
