Finding the Perfect Dresss

So you’ve done a lot of shopping in your life, right? Knowing how to shop just seems to come with the territory of being a woman. But you’ve never been shopping like this before…in search of THE DRESS…your wedding dress. The perfect dress is the crowning glory of the entire wedding ceremony, so do you really want to blindly head out in search of it, without a clue as to what you’re looking for? Let us fill you in on all the helpful hints you’ll need to know when scoping out the most memorable dress of your entire life!

1.First – define your style. What kind of bride do you want to be? Close your eyes and picture yourself standing there at the altar. Do you see a fairy-tale Cinderella dress, complete with the Princess-cut skirt and sparkly adornment? Or do you visualize a statuesque, Grecian-goddess gown, long and sleek and simple? The location of the ceremony is also a factor. You probably don’t want to walk down the aisle in a diamond-encrusted gown if you’re getting married on the beach. Instead, opt for something light and breezy and casual. And, finally, determine what shade of dress fits you best. Gone are the days of only one shade of white. The possibilities are endless! 2.Create a gown portfolio. Remember as a little girl, when you would stand in front of the magazine rack at the grocery store and gaze adoringly at the shelves of bridal magazines? Well, now it’s time to put those magazines to work! Peruse pages of bridal gowns, tear out the ones you like, and create a dream collage of your favorite styles. Once you actually get to the bridal shop, you can share these photos with the consultant, and that will help her narrow down the selections of dresses to show you. Be vocal with the consultant. Let her know what you like and what you don’t like, and allow her to be your sounding board. Working together, you can find the perfect dress! 3.Schedule an appointment with a reputable bridal gown consultant and get expert advice. Click here to find your nearest free consultation.

4.Save yourself plenty of time. Obviously, the dress is one of the most important aspects of the entire ceremony, so you will want to start shopping well in advance. The earlier you start looking for your dream dress, the better. Ask friends and family members who have recently gotten married to recommend their favorite bridal shops, and keep an open mind about every dress. Remember, a dress that is not your favorite on the rack might look fabulous on YOU! Click here to view your personalized Task List and schedule when to plan your dress consultation and fittings.

5.When you do hit the stores, dress comfortably. You don’t want to spend the day walking around in stiletto heels that are pinching your feet or dressy clothes are tight or constricting. Wear clothes are comfortable and easy to get on and off. Think about also bringing along a strapless bra and the shoes you’ll be wearing at the wedding, if you have them already. And you might want to wear a nice pair of panties and bra, since you will be spending a great deal of the day taking dresses on and off in front of the consultant and any friends or family members you bring along!
