Some Thoughts about Limos & Carriages
The just-married couple jumping into their getaway car is one of the most romantic of wedding images. Of course, when your turn comes, you’ll want it to be like a fairytale too, but whether you’re being whisked away in a horse-drawn carriage or in a limo, the glamour is undeniable. Love and carriage. Whether in winter or summer, there’s something innately elegant about carriages. It’s the perfect scenario for photo-ops, you’ll feel like a king and queen, everyone you pass by will get to see you, and you’ll make grand entrances and exits in bridal (and bridle!) style. Behind the wheel. Nothing says “cool” like the two of you stepping out of a stretch limo. The limousine advantages are fairly obvious: You’re covered up, which means there’s no worry of a weather change ruining your clothes; you can enjoy champagne; and, if you’d like, bring the bridal party with you. Money, honey. You’ll look fabulous no matter which you pick, but that kind of glamour isn’t cheap. Both are costly ideas, with limos running around $500 for a few hours, depending on where you live. Carriages will cost at least that much, but a huge amount of the money will depend on the route you’re taking. Also factor in if you’re getting married in a spot (like New York City) that has horse-drawn carriages readily available, or if it’s a place where they’re a rarity.
