Accessorizing Your Bouquet
For Style or Budget, Consider More than Just Flowers

Although flowers are the most traditional and symbolic ornament in a bride’s bouquet, they do not have to be alone. Today there are alternatives to entirely-floral bouquets that can make your walk down the aisle (and your photographs) one of sparkle, shine and drama. Talk with your florist about some of these
exicting new bouquet trends!

Go bold.

When you think of a bouquet, white roses, a few sprigs of baby’s breath and ribbon-covered stems probably come into mind. But, what if pearls were delicately placed on each petal, the baby’s breath replaced with sprawling and elegant peacock feathers, and the ribbon handle encrusted with sequins? Not only would the bride shine in all of her glorious presence, but also would her bouquet.

Seasonal choices.
When looking at various bouquet alternatives, brides have endless options. Seasonal themes can be expressed by the inclusion of leaves (real or silk), crystal snowflakes, feathers or butterfly decals.

No wilting here.
Fabric flowers are lifelike, gorgeous and won’t stain or bring on a guest’s allergies (or yours!). And they won’t wilt either! Silk, velvet, satin or even chiffon flowers are all viable options for your bouquet. Recently we’ve seen more and more amazing bouquets in which the flowers are actually made of feathers! They can be perfectly matched to the colors of your wedding, and they’ll last forever.

Pizzazz.

Try adding elements of modern beauty or theatrical flair to make your bouquet stand out. Florists and designers can make your arrangement “glimmer” with pearls, crystals, sequins and beading for a bouquet that glows by candlelight or in the sun.
Incorporating silk birds, stained glass hearts, seasonal fruits, glass figurines, and your monogram are all lovely ways to personalize your bouquet.

You’re wedding’s date and theme, as well as your personal taste will dictate how much or little you’d like to accessorize your bouquet. An open mind and a flair for creativity will be your guides to finding the bouquet that is just right for you.
