Guest Interaction via Polaroids

Budget Wedding Photography Ideas

If you're looking for wedding photography ideas on a budget, there are many creative ideas to consider. Not only has DIY photography gained momentum in recent months, there are ways that budget wedding photography can engage guests and make the reception even more interactive.

At an
autumn wedding in the Northeast, the bride and groom invited guests to participate in a photo-sketch booth, where a friend volunteered to take a Polaroid of each of the guests (couples typically took their photo together). After the picture developed, the guests then attached their photograph to a scrapbook page and proceeded to fill out a sort of coloring sheet/questionnaire. A variety of pencils, crayons, and pens were provided, and guests were asked to draw a picture of the bride and groom, which made for some interesting and humorous artwork! Later, the bride and groom compiled these drawings and printed them onto the cover of their thank you cards. Guests also answered questions such as: What advice do you have for the couple in their first year of marriage? How do you know the newlyweds? Do you want to share any special or humorous memories of the bride or groom? What qualities or practices contribute to a good marriage?

Instead of having a traditional
guestbook to sign, the couple gave their guests an opportunity to have fun and be more creative. Wedding photography ideas need not be expensive; sometimes it just involves using your resources and thinking outside the box!
