From Your Wedding Kiss and Beyond...
Have you considered how you’re going to work your gorgeously made-up face on your wedding day? Makeup artist Ginger Benedict shares how you should prepare your lips – and your lipstick – for the kiss that everyone will be watching…
Here is all you need to know for that first kiss: Start preparing your perfect pout weeks before your big day, in 5 easy steps. Practice blending lip liners, lip colors and glosses to create those kissable luscious lips.
Step 1: Get in shape.
Get those lips in great shape with a lip mask, one with miniature beads which gently exfoliate the surface skin cells that cause lips to appear dull and lifeless. Follow up with a balm that moisturizes and you have a great lip treatment that you can use long after the honeymoon ends to stay kissable.
Step 2: Wrinkle proof.
Prepare your lip color to last through your entire wedding and reception. An age-fighting lip primer is a must: It will create healthier-looking lips by fighting new fine lines and wrinkles, while the light-diffusing microspheres make fine lines you already have less noticeable. Choose one that does not dry out your lips. It will also extend lipstick wear and prevent feathering and bleeding.
Step 3: Definitely.
Perfectly define lips with a lip liner. Choose a liner that has a smooth, creamy formula and is waterproof. To help increase lipstick wear, create a matte base by lining along the natural lip line and filling in with lip liner pencil. You can choose a liner that closely matches your natural lip color, or for a more intense look, the color of your lipstick.
Step 4: Color blind.
Finding the perfect color is only a part of finding the perfect lipstick. You'll want to find a non-drying color that stays put without fading or feathering. With so many choices available, you may as well look for one that is healthy for your lips too. I recommend lipsticks enhanced with nourishing vitamin E and a vitamin C derivative, which help defend against wrinkle-causing free radicals and everyday environmental stress.
Step 5: Shining star.
Add dewy shine that looks natural with a small amount of lipgloss in the center of your lips. Select a super-light, non sticky formula that takes shine to a whole new level while it smoothes on evenly!
Wow!!! Picture perfect lips that everyone will be watching from the walk down the aisle to the cutting of the cake!
