Here are four top trends in wedding make up this season:

1. Smoky eyes with lighter, natural tones: Though the emphasis on smoky eyes is not new, the difference for this year's wedding makeup is the color palette. For a long time we have seen blacks and browns dominate the look, but this year, the colors have lightened up. Purples, grays, silvers, emeralds, and bronzes have been seen frequently. Bronzes or corals are especially useful when you want a dramatic look, but don’t want your eye makeup too dark.
   
   
2. Nude lips: Wedding makeup artists agree that an emphasis on the eyes demands soft tones on the lips, while dark or vibrant lip color require lighter eye makeup. Your wedding makeup artist should be able to advise which look suits you better. If you are a Marilyn Monroe-esque platinum blonde and look great with red lips, ignore the smoky eyes trend and emphasize those lips!
   
   
3. Light cheeks: Stylish bridal fashions are currently advising brides to apply creams and gel blushers on the cheeks instead of using a traditional blush brush. This is in order to avoid splotchy color on the cheeks. If the color is not thoroughly blended, the makeup will not look natural.
   
   
4. Airbrush: This is a technique used by celebrities and models. An airbrush machine blasts a spray over your entire face, essentially “locking in” all of your makeup and making your complexion completely flawless—without thickening your makeup. It is an absolute miracle, but unfortunately fairly expensive. Consider whether it may be worth the cost.
