Wedding Day Style Ideas
We have largely moved away from the idea that wedding dresses must be completely white. Dresses today are often different shades entirely: from pale pinks to rich beiges. Other dresses are accented with silver, gold, pewter, or bronze. In short, brides today have a lot more freedom to accessorize their dress and choose something less traditional. (Or traditional with a twist!) To find the wedding style that is right for you, consider some of these wedding fashion trends:
Satin sashes are absolutely gorgeous, and can add a bit of whimsy to your wedding style. Chocolate brown, blue, shades of berry, coral, gray, or even black can make a white wedding dress look more interesting. Also, sashes (like belts) can be strategically placed on the dress to accentuate your waistline. Just make sure that the sash does accentuate your figure, because if it not placed in the right spot, a sash can actually work to your disadvantage.
Bows are also making a comeback. There is a bit of nostalgia linked to bows, as they can be reminiscent of childhood Easter dresses. However, on the right dress, they can look elegant and sophisticated.
Fabric flowers are also an excellent twist to a dress, and they can be decorated in beads, sequins or pearls. Elements like bows and fabric flowers can give a simple dress the appearance of having come from an expensive designer boutique, but are relatively cheap to incorporate into the design of a dress.
