Picking a Dress for a 2nd Marriage

Appropriate for the Occasion & Your Personal Style

Since you’ve already planned a wedding, this time around should be a cinch! Knowing the do’s and don’ts in what is appropriate for a second wedding dress is key to choosing one that is both appropriate and fits your personality and style.

The Only Rule
As the bride you are free to choose whichever dress you love the most, however it’s important that you steer away from
traditional white wedding gowns. Your friends and family probably won’t bat an eye if you do so, however it’s more appropriate to choose a dress that is either not white, or a non-traditional style such as a two piece top and skirt, or a shorter length than a gown.

So Many Styles
There are countless wedding dress styles that are appropriate for a second marriage. You have so much freedom this time around to explore fun colors and cuts. Dresses that are meant for bridesmaids are now available for you to try on as your wedding dress. If you find a traditional wedding gown that you love, have it shortened and/or dyed.

Casual or Formal
Make sure to choose a style that fits the formality of your wedding. Second weddings are typically more casual than traditional first weddings. Keep this in mind when searching for the dress that says “I do.”
