Petite Wedding Gown Dos and Don'ts
Find Your Perfect Fit
It’s just so difficult being petite isn’t it? If you can sense my sarcasm then you know I think being petite is quite the contrary, because let's face it, you never have to worry about squeezing through a crowded room, or getting cozy in your miniscule airplane seat. There are, however, a few wedding gown do’s and don’ts that will ensure you choose the perfect petite wedding gowns that don’t end up wearing you.
Perfect Fit
Rule number one when choosing the right petite gowns is that they fit you to a t. There’s nothing less flattering than a loose wedding gown on a petite figure. If you’re on the short side, then make sure you find petite wedding dresses from designers and bridal boutiques that offer customized measurements.
Drop the Dropped Waist
Unless you have extremely long legs, steer clear of a gown with a dropped waist. If you want to look taller, then explore wedding gowns with princess seams.
Cut out Clutter
Since you’re petite, and you don’t want your gown to engulf you, it’s best to focus on wedding gowns with simple details. Stay away from gowns with a lot of embellishments such as beading, busy embroidering, or too many layers or ruffles.
Necklines
Steer toward simple necklines that show off your slender shoulders and arms, such as bateau neck, sleeveless scoop, or strapless.
