Casual Wedding Attire

For the Happy Couple & Guests

Whether you’re the bride, or one of the lucky guests, it’s difficult to decide what to wear to a casual wedding. Use the following guide when choosing the perfect dress or outfit.

For the Bride
When looking for a casual wedding dress, keep your eyes peeled for separates. Informal bridal gowns typically consist of a skirt and a separate top. If you’re going ultra-casual, then explore white or ivory linen dresses, either long or short. Choose a pair of wedding shoes that either have a slight heel, or no heel at all. There are a ton of fantastic flats out there to choose from.

For the Groom
Kaki pants, and a white button up collared shirt sans tie is a safe bet for a casual wedding. If you’re getting married on a beach then go barefoot or find Havianna flip-flops. Loafers are another shoe option for grooms.

For Female Guests
This is a great opportunity to rummage through your closet and pick out all of your favorite casual dresses. Choose the one that best fits the setting (beach, backyard, park etc.), and season. If it’s a summer wedding, then choose your favorite spaghetti strap floral print dress. You could also go with a fun skirt and a colorful blouse.

For Male Guests

For the ultra casual wedding you can get away with a cotton polo shirt and kakis. If the wedding is casual, but takes place in a more formal setting, (a church), then you might want to consider wearing a long sleeved, button up shirt. If it’s an evening wedding, bring a sport coat just in case.
