Q: What do I need to bring with me on my wedding day? I’m nervous about forgetting something.
Bride:
I am nervous for my wedding day. Not the actual getting married part, but about forgetting to bring something.
OWD: I will be happy to help you.
OWD: I can give you a list of things to bring. You can copy and paste this chat and bring the list with you on your wedding day.
Bride:
Thank you so much! That would be greatly appreciated and help put my mind at ease.
Bride:
I already know I need to bring my marriage license, veil, shoes, etc. But I would appreciate a list if you can tell me some other things.
OWD: Yes you should bring your marriage license with you. If you are performing any traditions such as lighting a Unity Candle or Jumping of the Broom, you will also want to bring these items and matches for the Unity Candle.
OWD: You should also bring a copy of all of your vendors’ contact information.
OWD: This will be handy in case you need to get in touch with anyone.
Bride:
Oh yes, that's a great idea. I should do that as well.
OWD: You will also want to bring your wedding rings, favors for your guests, seating cards, decorations and centerpieces. If the baker does not have the cake topper you will need to bring that as well.
Bride:
The rings... how could I have forgotten that on my list?
OWD: With your decorations- if you have a guestbook you should remember to bring that, as well as pens for your friends and family to leave you a message. Also bring the ring bearer pillow, your garter and floss. You will be taking many photographs and will want to make sure there is nothing stuck in your teeth.
OWD: Another good idea is to bring along some envelopes so that you can place the vendors’ tips in.
Bride:
That's a great idea too! I haven't thought about that yet. Maybe we can even write a little thank you note to them for helping us on our wedding day.
Bride:
You have been so helpful.
Bride:
I can not appreciate this enough.
OWD: I am happy to help you.
Bride:
I have also heard about the bride bringing an "emergency kit" for the day of the wedding. I know I will need to bring my makeup for touchups.
Bride:
Are there any other items you can think of that I should bring along?
OWD: Yes you can also bring bobby pins and a travel size hairspray with you. This will help with any last minute hair touchups. You can also bring clear nail polish which can help with runs in pantyhose. White chalk is also a trick that can be used to disguise any stains.
Bride:
That's a great trick! I'm a teacher so I have plenty of chalk.
OWD: A needle and sewing thread in the colors of your wedding party will also be handy.
OWD: You can also bring some mints, Tylenol, deodorant and your ID.
Bride:
Thank you so much again!
Bride:
I'm going to print this out; this has helped me so much. I have to get ready to go but thank you for your time.
OWD: You're welcome. I am sure you will have a beautiful wedding day.
